Atlanta Disability Hearings

Atlanta Social Security Hearing Office Guide

Understand the Atlanta Downtown and Atlanta North hearing offices, possible hearing formats, and what to verify before an ALJ hearing.

Official SSA hearing locations

Atlanta-area disability hearings may be associated with more than one office.

The hearing office on a notice is not necessarily the same as a local Social Security field office or the claimant’s attorney’s office. Read the hearing notice carefully. It identifies the date, time, appearance method, and instructions that control the proceeding.

Atlanta Downtown Hearing Office

SSA’s hearing-office locator has identified the Atlanta Downtown office at Suite 500, Marquis 1, 245 Peachtree Center Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30303.

Atlanta North Hearing Office

SSA’s locator has identified the Atlanta North office at 2nd Floor, 4100 Old Milton Parkway, Alpharetta, Georgia 30005.

Confirm the current address and hearing method from your notice.

Office locations, assignments, security procedures, and hearing modes can change. Do not travel based only on a website guide.

Possible hearing formats.

In person

The claimant and participants appear at a designated hearing location.

Agency video

Participants use SSA video equipment from assigned locations.

Online video

The claimant participates remotely using approved technology, subject to applicable procedures and consent.

Telephone

The hearing is conducted by telephone under SSA procedures.

Preparing for the hearing—not merely finding it.

The address matters, but the outcome depends on a developed exhibit file, accurate work history, clear testimony, and preparation for vocational or medical evidence. Contact the representative immediately if the notice has an incorrect telephone number, mailing address, hearing method, or accommodation information.
